BORN to DIE
how can this be?
Oh, my dear friend
please come & see!
The angels sang
when JESUS was born,
Yet, knowing that one day
they would mourn.
How could it be
this Son of God,
Could have been beaten
with a rod?
Mary, so glad
to see Him come,
Would weep & cry
over her dear Son.
From the manger
to the grave,
Our dear Savior
came to SAVE!
Save the lost ones
such as I,
Oh, can you give me
a reason why?
WHY would He die
such a cruel death,
Hanging there suffering
till His last breath?
I'll tell you why
my friend, indeed,
Because we are
such people in 'need'!
We could never get
to Heaven on our own,
Much less 'stand'
before God's Throne.
With sins like ours
as black as coal,
We could 'never' Save
our own soul!
It took the BLOOD
of our Savior Above,
From the ONLY One Who
is 'pure' as a dove.
But, weep no more
my friend, you see,
'Cause JESUS has truly
set us 'free'!
COME TO HIM NOW
JUST AS YOU ARE,
KNOW that He Loves you
& will carry you far.
Far above the reaches of Earth
up to Heaven into His Arms,
Yet, while you are here below
He'll dispel all that harms.
Yes, celebrate, celebrate
JESUS' birth,
But, DON'T forget the REASON
He came to Earth.
